Like Sister - Like Brother

Shannon Smith takes the checkers first at the 5th annual 50 lap event at Lindas' Speedway. Shannon earned an outside starting spot by setting the 2nd fastest qualifying time. As the green flag flew Shannon jumped out front leading all the laps including the most important - the final one.

Shannon was the first regular to win the event ever as well as the first female driver to win this race. The 2008 track champion Nate Christman was 2nd with Mid Atlantic Gold Champion Jim Housworth rounding out the podium.

Great Job To All.

Ben Whitaker aka. Flipper was crowned the 2008 Slingshot National Champion.
Ben is also the 2008 Hamlin Speedway Champion.

This race brings an awesome season to an end.
Time to tear down the cars and rebuild for 2009.

Special thanks to Denise and Randy Smith for giving me personally the opportunity of being apart of the S&S Speedway team as well as a ride whenever I wanted to run. Unfortunately the rain date was scheduled around a time I needed to take care of some personal business as well as spend quality time with my son and take him trick or treating. There is always next year. Racing can be stressful and take up alot of time, but this time can be made up. Quality time with your children cannot.

Lindas 50 Cancelled For Inclement Weather

Lindas Speedway has informed me that the 50 lap race scheduled for today (Saturday ) has been cancelled. The race has been postponed to Friday October 31. Check the track website for starting times.

The front row has been set with the 04 of "Big" Bill on the pole setting fast time with 23 Shannon Smith sitting outside pole! Great Job to the both of you.

2008 Lindas and Hamlin Speedway Track Champions

Nate Christman is your 2008 Lindas Speedway Track Champion! Nate also took the Kutztown Speedway track championship this year as well! Shannon Smith finished 2nd in this championship battle with 2 wins to her credit at the speedway.

Ben Whitaker is your 2008 Hamlin Speedway Champion! Ben is also a late model driver at Penn Can Speedway. Shannon Smith finished 2nd in this points battle, only 9 points back to Ben.

Shannon Smith was low point qualifier winning her first heat and finishing 2nd in her second heat putting her on the pole for the 50 lap Hamlin National.

The perfectly prepared track allowed only 2 minor cautions within the 1st 10 laps, the rest went clean and green till the end.

AWESOME job by all 32 competitors who competed in this feature!

Shannon Smith took home a COOL $1,000.00 as well as lap money and other prizes for the feature win!!
