MOTOTOWN USA has closed
MOTOTOWN USA HAS CLOSED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.
This was the email I had received from the Mototown USA race coordinator. She wanted me to tell everyone that they appreciated all the Slingshot support with the Weds. night practices and the March 15th event. They will be regrouping and possibly hoping to reopen the end of Sept.
Anyone with rooms reserved for the weekend, she said some of them have a 48 hour cancellation period so please contact them to cancel your rooms.
Other Slingshot news.I personally want to thank each and everyone of the Weikel / Mid-Atlantic Tour drivers that competed at Bridgeport and Shellhammer's.This was a shining example of everyone respecting fellow competitors equipment.Shellhammer's was so impressed that they will be discussing future dates with me and I am planning on a 2009 National and Junior National there.
Parts updates. For anyone that has ordered Aluminum wheels,an ordering mistake from the factory has set them behind 10 days.
400 clutch shoes have been ordered and in order for everyone to return the cores,we are possibly going to add a core charge on each purchase which will be credited if you return them when used up.We are asking for anyone that has cores whether it be 1 or 100 to get them to us for a $6.25 core credit.
Manual brake calipers should be arriving shortly. They had supply problems with the clips and hope to get back on schedule very soon.
Pro Shocks was dealt a blow with the southern storms and hope to get back on assembly schedule as quickly as possible.
A lot of track openings this weekend, please support your track dealers when parts are needed.
For anyone wanting to have some free fun,www.virtualracing.com has a free pick the top 5 fantasy league for the Briggs & Stratton Slingshot by Tobias Series. It's free and you pick the top 5 at each of the tour stops.
Price increases have begun to trickle in.We are doing our best to hold the line on this.Currently dirt tires have had 2 price increases since Jan 1 and one more is slated for June 15th.We haven't raised the price on them and will do whatever to avoid that.
Get out and do some racing this week.Support your local track.
Thanks for your support
Mike

Congrats Carman Crew
It has been deemed by Speedway Entertainment that both flywheels are legal. As stated on below the finish order the manufacturer may have drilled them holes, and they have. Congrats to the Carman crew on your 1 - 2 finish. Sorry for the inconvience but you showed professionalism in offering the parts for further inspection WITHOUT a problem.

7 cars did not finish
It was decided by myself and an track official prior to drivers meeting to perform tech inspection of the top 3 in the junior division as well as the senior division with a 4th car as an alternate in case of a questionable rules infraction. It was also decided by myself and the forementioned track official that the items to be checked other than pre race air pressures where to be: Carbs. Headers, RR Shock, and Flywheels. Upon inspection the top 2 finishers flywheels did not look stock appearing. 1 flywheel had 4 drilled holes, and the other had 3 drilled holes, in a tightly constructed line. Being parts as of late do change at the manufacturer - we feel this was the right decision. Paul Lotiers looked stock appearing to all of the officials and myself.
Upon a brief meeting with ALL of the promoting staff and myself we have decided to sign the parts in question and send them to Speedway Entertainment with Paul Lotier for further inspection by Rich Tobias for a final decision. The top 3 were not paid pending the investigation. In the event of disqualification of the top 2 the already paid payouts will be adjusted throughout.
